Software Description

WinSnap is a clean, fast, simple and user-friendly utility for taking and editing screenshots. It can easily capture windows of non-rectangular form with customized and transparent backgrounds, including Aero Glass on Windows 7 and Vista. WinSnap adds eye-candy drop shadows, reflections, rotations, watermarks and other effects on the fly. It supports a variety of image formats and provides advanced auto-save features.

This software was especially designed to capture the new Windows UI, first introduced in Vista. It can handle all possible issues with translucent window frames, rounded corners and shadows. Furthermore, it can apply a drop shadow effect very similar to the Aero theme.

WinSnap allows you to simultaneously select and capture multiple objects, e.g. windows, dialogs, buttons and other controls. Multiple windows can be placed on the screen and then easily combined into one screenshot image.

Color effects can be applied to the captured images: darken, lighten, grayscale and inverted colors. It's supposed to be used in combination with rectangular and ellipse selections when you want to highlight an area on the screenshot.

You can crop a part of your screenshot in WinSnap. It looks like the standard “Crop” tool that any image editor has, but WinSnap takes into account the window form and shadow. Note the difference when you crop screenshots with native Aero shadows.

You can copy/paste screenshots with transparency from WinSnap to PowerPoint presentations and Word documents, or copy/paste Office 2010 drawing objects, clip arts, charts and shapes from Word to WinSnap.

Key features:

- Easily take screenshots of non-rectangular and transparent windows and add real smoothing drop shadow effects on-the-fly.

- Enumerate and capture all visible windows in the foreground application and combine them into one screenshot. All void space between separate windows can be automatically filled with the background of your choice.

- You can define just a portion of the screen to capture. This is a good way to show a particular part of a website you have found on the Internet.

- You can quickly add your signature to the captured snapshots, so everyone will know that it is your image.

- Create small thumbnails and automatically resize images to fit the fixed size of your pages.

- Capture complex application pulldown menus in order to show a user which menu item to select when performing certain actions.

- Can be also be used to add certain effects to web graphics.
