Software Description

This framework is a collection of libraries, classes, interfaces and tools which were created for last several years. We find them useful and decided to publish since we believe they can help people to solve problems with serialization, logging, network communication, configuration, asynchronous programming and so on.

There is a lot of routine which programmers face in daily activities. We think this framework can increase productivity and help to get rid of repetitive coding similar tasks from application to application.

Key features:

- Check .NET 4.0 - Add check of installed .NET 4.0 in the installer and pop the proper message up if it is missing.

- Network Context - Implement support of network context to allow clients to configure network communication parameters not only on application basis but for every single call as well.

- State Manager Configuration - Add support for configuring state manager.

- Authentication - Implement Authentication model. Windows Authentication, Password Authentication, Custom Authentication.

- Culture context - Deliver information about Culture to server and execute all calls on server side in the same Culture context as client to provide proper formats for data, currency and localization support.

- PipeHost - Implement PipeHost to allow connect to services using Pipes and use Impersonation as well.

- IPv6 Hosts - Implement hosts for IPv6.

- Styx.Crc - Implement class library to calculate most used CRCs.

- Styx.Wpf - Set of control styles and some common dialogs.

- Optimization - Increase performance by using better ways for creating proxies and adaters in Styx.Net.

- Merge module - Create merge module to include Styx Framework in installation packages.

- Support Spring.NET - Add integration with Spring.NET

- Text File Logger - Log provider to write log messages into text file

- Xml Logger - Log provider to write log messages into xml file.

Framework contained modules and tools:

- Styx - Core module of the framework includes basic classes and interfaces used by other modules of the framework.

- Styx.Net - Provides classes, interfaces and infrastructure for network communications. - Styx.Net.Services - Interfaces of network services included in the framework.

- PingService - Network service allows to check if client is alive and close dead sessions.

- DebugLogProvider - Logging provider class which allows to print log messages to the debug output.

- DbLogProvider - Logging provider class which stores log messages in Ms SQL database.

- Styx.Testing - Set of classes for unit tests.

- Styx.Wix.Extensions - Extension for Wix to execute SQL scripts.

- Tools - Tool applications.

Styx Framework is compiled to .NET 4.0. SDK is integrated with Visual Studio 2010.
