Software Description

Remote Utilities is remote desktop software for business and home use. You can view the remote computer screen and control its mouse and keyboard as if you were sitting right in front of that computer.

Business users can complete a variety of tasks related to maintaining IT infrastructure. Remote Utilities is a single command center where you can keep a list of all your PCs, access them for maintenance purposes and monitor their statuses and inventory. Optimize your PC inventory management with Remote Utilities as a center of operations, save time by eliminating the need to physically access remote PCs, work from home or when traveling by securely connecting to your office computer and get instant access to your files, databases, and software. Corporate users can also deploy the program across their entire network using the built-in installation tool and MSI Configurator that allows you to create three different deployment packages with any combination of parameters.

Helpdesk providers benefit from the firewall bypass feature that allows firewalls and NAT services to be bypassed when connecting to a remote PC. The Quick Connect module of the program runs without installation and administrative privileges. You can customize the Quick Connect file with your logo and welcome text before sending it out to your customers. With RUT your technical support specialists will be able to provide remote technical assistance to all their clients no matter what their level of computer literacy or how their network is configured.

Home users can connect to their home PC over the Internet or remotely support their friends and family members. Enjoy your photos, music, and videos anywhere, copy your files to and from the remote PC, share your home PC/laptop screen with friends or colleagues, get access to sensitive information stored on your PC (for example, passwords) via a highly-secured Internet connection and utilize the programs installed on your PC from anywhere.

Full control connection mode allows you to view the remote computer screen, control its mouse cursor and send keyboard presses. In this mode, the type and position of the mouse pointer on the remote computer are also shown in the RUT-Viewer window. You can also capture sound on the remote computer, thus you will hear on the local computer everything played on the remote computer.

Bypass firewalls using the ‘Internet-ID’ feature. This feature is especially useful for providing remote technical support for your clients or help your family and friends. The remote PC’s Internet ID is all you need to know to establish connection.

Basic operations with files and folders in a two-pane window, two-way drag'n'drop and smart file download resumption. Hotkeys are also supported.

The "Callback Connection" feature allows the RUT-Server to initiate a network connection. Due to this mechanism, it is possible to connect to an RUT-Server through a firewall or a NAT device or if its IP address is unknown.

The 'connect through host' option allows you to connect to a remote computer through another computer with a running RUT-Server. This comes in handy when there is no connection between RUT-Viewer and RUT-Server other than through the intermediate RUT-Server.

Network Map allows you to arrange computers on the network map showing their actual topological location.

Shutdown/Restart, mode is used to control the basic power supply functions on the remote computer.

Inventory Management module enables you to gather hardware and software inventory information from the remote PCs and build complete and comprehensive asset summary and inventory reports.

Remote Registry connection mode you can get direct access to the remote computer's registry and do the necessary edits to the registry.

Program Execution is a connection mode that allows you to run an executable file on the Remote computer.

Terminal mode allows you to get complete access to the command line on the remote computer.
