Create layouts for model railroads and slot car systems.
Build layouts by simply dragging tracks from the libraries to the plan! Plug them together, arrange them and try different variations, preview them in 3D and finally print your layouts in full scale!
RailModeller provides a set of powerful tools and features to support you in the creation of your model railroad layouts, no matter what scale or manufacturer of tracks you prefer.

A comprehensive collection of components for all major digital system is also included. And if that weren't enough - the number of available libraries is constantly growing!
- Work with tracks at different heights and grades:
RailModeller allows you to create complex model railroad layouts in three dimensions. Dedicated features like assistants for grades or track helixes and specialized views to visualize the grade profile of layouts take the hassle out of designing complex layouts with different height levels. A terrain generation feature 'automagically' generates a landscape matching your layout.

A layer system allowing up to 99 layers per layout provides common functionality like hiding or locking layers to support you when working with complex layouts.
- Railset Editor to create your own libraries:
A powerful, graphical Editor is included in the distribution to create your own or modify and customize the libraries included in the distribution. Elements are easily transferred between RailModeller and the Railset Editor using the clipboard. Complex custom shapes can be designed in 3rd party tools and imported using SVG vector graphics files.
- 3D View of Layouts:
View your layout in 3D and get an even better impression of what the real thing will look. No extra work is needed, the 3D View is generated automatically for you with a single mouselick.
- Extensive editing facilities:
Groups of elements can be created, several selection mechanisms provide fast ways of selecting similar elements, similar colored elements, elements by a particular vendor... An integrated ruler-tool provides exact measurements for your virtual layout. With few mouse-clicks whole segments can be duplicated and arranged to create complex figures with very little work.
- Export Layouts as Image Files:
Layouts can be exported as PSD, PNG, JPEG or TIFF pictures.
A partlist is automatically maintained by RailModeller for your layout providing an overview of the tracks used and the overall costs. Prices can be edited in the partlist on-the-fly.
- Stock Management:
Keep track of your inventory of tracks: The number of tracks used from your stock can be monitored currently and dedicated partlists can be created to list only these elements for your shopping list that are not yet part of your stock. Create layouts using just the tracks you have in that box in your cellar without purchasing any additional piece of track!
The RailModeller and Railset Editor applications are localized. Currently english and german locales are available. Other localizations will be added if there is sufficient request for a particular language.
- Extensive Manual:
An extensive 80 page PDF manual is included in the distribution.
