Software Description

Software for teaching and learning of quadratic equations. It covers solutions by factorisation, "completing the square" and formula. Each method is clearly explained, with simple sums for practice. Can generate hundreds of sums (up to 200 sums per session) for drills. The type of sums is selectable.

Step by step guide for beginners to ensure they get the correct answers. Students can key in their own sums and let the interactive guide help them do their homework. Marks automatically and can print a detailed report for each session. Two players may compete using one computer. Sums are marked automatically and a report can be printed after each session.

QuadEquations key features:

- A step by step interactive guide is provided to help the student solve the equations if he has difficulties. If more than one method is available, the user is allowed to make a choice. The guide does not solve the equation for the student but guides him along, providing feedback on his working after each step. This helps the student to learn the method.

- A student can key in his own equation and let the guide help him solve it. This feature can help the student do his homework.

- It allows two players to compete with each other on one computer, reducing the number of computers required for a class by half. Each player can do the sums at his own pace.

- It prints two separate detailed reports, each showing the sums done by the individual player.
