Software Description

Performance Gradebook is a complete assessment system for teachers and professors. One secure Windows app to store and calculate grades, take attendance, write comments, and fill in rubrics.

This program saves you time assessing students, recording grades, and using rubrics–while simultaneously helping you give students better feedback, more consistently. Everybody wins. If the program saves just 90 seconds per paper, and you teach 150 students, it will have saved you almost four hours after just one assignment!

Key features:

- Set up your custom rubrics and quickly grade student performances with simple mouse clicks.

- Analyze how you graded each rubric category, see the parts of an assignment where the overall class excelled, and where extra attention is needed.

- Names of students missing too many classes are marked in red. You decide how many absences are acceptable.

- All your key records are in one central place, one file. You have a copy of everything you told students; refer to it later, during conferences or when writing recommendation letters.

- Use saved comment snippets to provide identical feedback to students making the same mistakes. As an added bonus, you stop writing the same kinds of comments over and over.

- Share grading schemes, rubric forms, comment snippets. Everything can be saved as separate files, easily imported by other Performance Gradebook users.

Start working right away, adding names and assignments, because the program looks and works like a simple, familiar spreadsheet.

You take attendance every day. Click the button marked “Absent,” and the deed is done. The gradebook keeps track of each student’s complete attendance record (including how many minutes of class were missed from lateness).

Use your rubrics and assign student performance values by clicking and selecting values. It’s faster than doing it by hand, and you and your students have a record of what you wrote.

If students have the same problems from paper to paper, use comment snippets to standardize their feedback and avoid writing the same comments over and over.

Once you have created a rubric feedback form, save it for reuse or sharing with colleagues.

Changing a rubric is as easy as changing text in a word processor table.

Your automatically formatted reports are professional looking; they show your care and dedication to students. They are ready to print or (automatically) e-mail.

Wizards for creating new gradebooks and new rubrics help you get started right away.

Set up your gradebook using weighted categories (or straight points). Perf. Gradebook takes care of the necessary calculations.

Templates let you reuse or share grading schemes, rubrics, and comment snippets.

Performance Gradebook has been tested on a wide variety of Windows-based computers. If your PC runs Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7, Performance Gradebook should work fine on your computer.

If you decide you don’t want to keep Performance Gradebook, select the uninstall option from your main menu (Start–>All Programs–>Perf.Gradebook–>Uninstall).
