Mint Project Description

Mint Project is a product development tool currently aimed at rapid development of Mac OS X Cocoa Applications and Frameworks using a BASIC style programming language (Mint Basic). Mint Project is a great alternative to Xcode and is a must have for new and seasoned programmers as it provides the ability to quickly develop interfaces for your application without the need to write any code.

For seasoned programmers the Mint Project interface workflow provides a great alternative to Apple's NIBs, however, NIBs are still supported in Mint Project. Mint Project's programming language, Mint Basic, is a object oriented language and provides many features that will be welcomed by seasoned programmers: such as name spaces (yes, classes can have name spaces, using dot-notation), and easy to implement Properties, Methods, Objects, and Events. New programmers will happy that Mint Project provides these features.

Users of Real Studio (formally REALbasic) and Visual Studio will find Mint Project an easy transition to make as it supports many of the programing language elements of those two platforms. Multiple Targets are also supported in Mint Project allowing a developer to setup different build scenarios where platform, architecture, frameworks, classes (you can disable and enable classes for any particular target), and resources are variable, ultimately allowing the developer control over the final product. Mint Project is currently in beta but registration keys are available for purchase and will work for the final (1.0) version of Mint Project as well as the betas.
