LightBox Free Image Editor is a completely free, user-friendly professional image editor with many advanced features found in expensive editors. A simple but powerful editor, with a focus on absolute image quality and ease-of-use -- we are releasing a free version to show our new technology and speed.

Features include advanced color balance, Fill-light, easy Red-eye Removal with face-detection technology. With most core routines written in machine-level code, the action is fluid and real-time, performing in 16-bits per-channel. 48-bit RAW and 48-bit tiff support. LightBox was written from scratch for novice and experienced users, with a very easy-to-use, friendly user-interface, and functions that are advanced and can perform and many times out-performs high-end, expensive editors.

Start up is a breeze. With our user-friendly interface and help system that leads you through the process, the learning curve is very low and you can immediately get amazing results from your images. LightBox Image Editor includes a free 30-day trial of LightBox Plus Image Editor (which you can opt-out of), which has many more features. LightBox is free, forever, though, with no strings attached or adware/spyware. LightBox has advanced red-eye removal that has face-detection to make removing red-eye easy. We also have a mode that guarantees red-eye removal.

Our Color Balancing algorithms and new advanced easy-to-use Color Toner (an advanced on Tint and Temperature) are state-of-the-art, and commonly out-perform the high-end, very expensive editors. Unlike web-based image editors, LightBox Free Image Editor is very powerful and very fast. Since it runs on your machine, there is no download or upload time, and no delay in results. Most core routines are written in machine-level code, and the actions (such as moving sliders) is very fast and real-time, bringing results that just can't be done via web-based applications.
