Software Description

Dupe Away uses a three-step process to find, identify and delete dupes. With the touch of a button, Dupe Away finds all your dupes nearly instantly. You can even refine the Dupe identification thru its prefs menu such that if you wanted to enable or disable matching tracks based on file size or play time, you can.

If you've been using iTunes for a while, you've probably encountered a few things in your iTunes library that look like music, but when you click on it, iTunes can't find that file. In Dupe Away, those are called "nonexistent tracks" and you've got the option of cleaning those from your music library too.

If you've got 100s of dupes on your computer, you probably don't want to go through each of them trying to figure out which dupes to keep, and which to delete. Dupe Away looks at things such as how many times the tracks have been played, whether or not the tracks are rated and then marks the ones that are best to delete so that in one fell swoop you can take out all the trash.

Once you've identified the duplicates, the Dupe Away filters let you quickly switch between seeing all the tracks or just the duplicates.

With its built in auto-update framework, Dupe Away is able to keep pace with the constant changes being made to iTunes. The Dupe Away updates are free for at least a year, so you don't have to worry about buying a new program every time iTunes gets upgraded.
